Link: High Rankings Advisor: The Art of SEO - Issue No. 105. in this newsletter seo consultant Jill Whalen talks about Google's view of the search engine optimization industry and seos  in general. She explains how some people can over do it with their search engine optimization methods and she states that doing this can negatively impact your search engine ranking. This newsletter was written in 2004 so the information while still very useful is probably a bit dated.  From what I've read recently Google doesn't dislike all search engine optimization professionals just the ones who persists in using black hat tactics.  Tactics that are used strictly to fool the search engines I think they like white hat seos (or at least they should) seos  that show people how to make quality sites with the search engines in mind.
